Shipping Information
The shipping & handling fee is determined by the total cost of your order.
Up to $100 - $9.95
$100.01 - $200 - $10.95
$200.01 - $400 - $11.95
$400 and up - $12.95
Occassionally we deviate from these charges if a very small item (like a decal or keychain), or a very large item (like a diploma frame) is purchased.
We ship all large textbook orders insured, and with a signature required. If no one is going to be home and you do not want us to require a signature, please say so in the notes field, and know that we cannot be responsible for lost shipments in that situation.

How to order from our website:
-After clicking the link at the bottom of this page to continue, click on the appropriate Semester / Campus. You can add your courses to the list on the right one at a time using the department, course number, and section number.

-After adding your courses to the "your schedule" box, click on the "Find books for these courses."
(Some Firefox browswer users have reported trouble at this step; the "your schedule" box may be too far down the screen to view. If you cannot scroll down to it, you may need to use a different browser.)

-A list of all the books for your classes will come up. You will see pricing information on this page. If you don't need a particular item, you can easily uncheck it to remove it before finalizing the order. When ready to proceed, click on "Add these books to my cart.

-From here you can make further changes to your order, continue shopping, or check out. We sell school supplies and lots of USM merchandise through our website as well. To add any of these to your order, click on the drop down list in the upper left hand corner and choose a category to browse.

Due to the high volume of calls we get at the beginning of each semester e-mail is preferred when possible, and in most cases, replied to first: bookstore@usm.maine.edu If your question is about an order you have already submitted, please include your order# in your e-mail or voicemail.

Are you purchasing books for someone other than yourself?
(Son, Daughter, Spouse, etc.)
If the person you are buying books for does not live with you, please also provide a phone number for them as we occassionally have to make phonecalls to the student with questions or alerts about their books.

Are you using someone else's credit card to pay for your books?
(Mother, Father, Spouse, etc.)
Firstly, please make sure you have their permission and that they are aware of the transaction. Secondly, please provide a phone number for both the card holder (in the billing address area) and for yourself (in the shipping address area, whether you are having it shipped OR picking it up in one of the stores.)

Multiple Charges
When processing your order, we will charge the items that are currently in stock. If an item has not yet come in, we will not charge it to your card until the item actually arrives in the store. We do not charge anything to your card unless we have it in our hands. This is why multiple charges for a single order may occur.
